Handicap News
The purpose of the USGA Handicap System is to make the game of golf more enjoyable by enabling players of differing ability to compete on an even basis. Players submit scores and the USGA issues each player a Handicap Index (HI) based on the best ten of twenty scores relative to the ratings of the courses played. A Handicap Index is portable
and any Pro shop should be able to convert
a player's HI to a course handicap.
Two basic premises underlie the USGA Handicap System;
First, each player is to try to make the best score possible at every hole in every round, regardless of where the round is played and;
Second, the player will post the score from every round played under the Rules of Golf to his scoring record and for peer review.

Peer review is essential for fair handicapping. Anyone desiring a Handicap Index implicitly agrees to peer review. At Colony Creek all submitted scores are posted to GHIN.com and can be viewed by anyone via the internet.
Player's are responsible for their actions. Peers are responsible to each other and the Handicap Committee is responsible for the process.
Members of the Colony Creek Handicap committee are;
